These french youtuber managed to get a hold of a brand new Chinese graphic card (the MTT S80 by Moore Threads) that isn’t realy even on the market yet (they say there was a sort of lottery in China to get one and non Chinese had to buy it from Chinese who won one). Apparently the card is 100% Chinese, every component even the chips that are basicaly the heart of graphic cards are manufactured in China. This is significant because until now the only graphic card and prossessor manufacturers were the american thech giants: Nvidia, AMD and Intel, even when other brands made graphic cards the components traced back to those 3. But this card is apparently Chinese manufactured from start to finish. What’s even more impressive is the fact that the company that made this card was funded in october of 2020! 3 years ago only! And they already made a graphic card that incorporate a bunch of latest gen thechnologies. It seems the card has a relatively high power consumption and get hot even when not super active. It has 16 Giga of memory which the guys in the video says is equivalent to a good modern card and that the hardware of the graphic card is very performant but the software lack optimisation (they compared it to problems early Intel cards). The card cost 179 euros (~196$ when I’m wrighting this). Their conclusion is that it’s still lacking on the software side of things but very promising.
