Musk’s platform is pushing MrBeast’s first video upload in users’ feeds as an unlabeled ad.

Mr Beast was already annoying. He was doing nice things for folks so I let it go but if he joins with Twitter on this I will lose any respect I did have for him

He already said that Twitter is not paying enough to sustain the cashflow needed for more.
Because of this even another million views coming from twitter aint paying much more in comparison to a youtube click/member.

Linus (LTT) mentioned on the Wanshow that Twitter pays shit rates even for the bit of engagement.

It doesn’t seem like a platform that will do him many favors, unless it starts developing features he’s using on YouTube. His YT videos have multi-audio support so they can be watched in different languages, and I’m pretty sure X is single audio and also more compressed.

If it does pan out, at least the money will go into videos/helping others.

Yeah, the guy taking money from Google and giving them to the poor, cleaning the oceans and helping the environment. We MUST lose respect for him, just because he posted on a social media platform we prefer not to use.

That’s the logic behind this. Honestly?

I wish “social media drama” would be somewhere else than “technology”. There is nothing in this story related to technology, it’s about business, people, and politics.

There should be a gossip section. Almost like the old gossip magazines back in the day “Can you believe what Oprah is wearing?”.

I couldn’t agree more. This kind of gossip shit ruins all sorts of communities. Maybe we need to start a drama-free tech community.

If Mr. Donaldson really wanted to know how much X was gonna give it to him he should have made a video about how Elon is a tiny man-child with an inferiority complex grown out of his inability to satisfy any woman and how Teslas are cheap made in China garbage piles that are handily bested by any other EV on the market in any metric. Only then, I MIGHT believe any revenue numbers he got from such a video, but I think what this article shows is happening is exactly how I’d expect things to go for any other video.

Elon is clearly gonna pull a Facebook and juice the numbers to lure people away from other platforms as long as he can in hopes of growing into something bigger than YouTube. I’d believe Elon’s numbers as much as I believe he owns a lovely bridge on Kepler-442b that he wants to sell me at an amazing loss.

As someone who makes videos I can give an example of how poor Xs view count is.

    On the same video: YouTube - 3k views 143 likes Tiktok - 249 views 21 likes and 6 saves Twitter/X - 26 impressions - 4 views

Fr I it’s almost not worth posting there

I’m all for Twitter bashing but there are factors like follower count differences than can account for what you experienced.

I strangely enough have less followers on tiktok than I do twitter. However my point being the impressions given to each video is much much smaller on twitter/X

I like how news sites are starting to use super unflattering images of him. The kind you see of Democrats on Fox and of the others on the others.
