Kenny Omega comments on Rossy Ogawa.

Rossy Ogawa officially announced his new promotion Marigold, which will hold its first event on May 20. Rossy is the founder of STARDOM, but was fired in February with accusations of trying to poach talent.

Speaking on his Twitch stream, Omega commented on Rossy.

“From someone who lived it, breathed, who has very close friends in the industry. I don’t necessarily mean the wrestling industry, I mean the industry. The government issued press. The information they know. I’m just going to leave it at that. I would say don’t be so quick to listen to praise for that individual because someday, I’m not sure when it will be. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but someday, people will know the truth. What they do with that truth, I don’t know. Will they share it? Maybe. A lot of the higher ups in Japan, they know exactly what,” he said.

Later in the stream, Omega addressed his comments being taken out of context.

“My comments on Rossy are whatever. There is nothing to say. I just think, eventually…I don’t care about Rossy being an E-Drone. That’s no big deal. He’s done…that’s not even the tip…just you friggin wait. If you are still interested in wrestling and you’re listening to the stories and reading stuff. When it finally comes out. I will say one thing, there are a lot of people who refuse to work for him for the very same reason. Some of those people are in WWE. Some are in AEW. They have a very good reason. It’s not just, ‘I decided to wake up and not like this guy.’ If you want to know along what lines they tread amongst, the dude just flat out said, ‘we’re looking for girls ages 13 to 21 that don’t have a boyfriend and aren’t married.’ We already know he puts underage girls in very revealing swimsuit calendars and books. I wish that’s all he did. Let’s put it that way. I don’t know. I don’t want to say anything. I’m not going on record to say anything. I don’t want lawyers barking at my door. That’s why I don’t want to say anything. I don’t have any sort of video evidence, I just have the good word of people who are very close. I’m outside of it. If those people feel like commenting or saying something, whatever. For now, I’ll say that people going to Marigold, good luck. I hope you have a great time. I hope it works out for you. For me, I would be very hesitant. I would be very hesitant. That’s all,” he said.

He concluded by saying, “My only comment, I’m with Asuka. That’s it. We are bros. Always have been. She has her reasons and they are probably the same ones as mine.”

Asuka previously stated that STARDOM was created to defeat her.

everything ive heard about rossy just gives me major red flags when it comes to his behaviour around girls especially his willingness to use underage talent no wonder wwe wants to work with him

Rossy/Stardom is not the only one to utilize underage talent. TJPW currently has a few minors on their roster. There’s also cases like Riho, and Nick Wayne, who started their wrestling careers while they were underage. Hell, even the Hardy’s were minors when they started.

My issue is not with minors wrestling, my issue is with sexualization of minors in wrestling (as Kenny alluded to).

don’t get me wrong i think japan has a problem with that in joshi as a whole. but yeah, what i was alluding to was the sexualisation aspect which is why wwe wants to work with him so much considering their toxic abusive culture towards female talent.

Assuming my reading comprehension is intact on this holiest of days, what I’m getting from this is Kenny has heard things, from people that he trusts, but does not have any first hand knowledge or evidence.

I imagine this will lead to a lot of questions being asked of people who have common associations with both Kenny and Rossy, and of course, Rossy himself.

Kenny is likely in a position where he can’t say anything more, because without firsthand knowledge/evidence, it would just be one word against the other.

I hope the truth comes out quickly, because this reads very badly, context or no, and wrestling fans love to jump to conclusions.

Yeah I agree. We obviously know what he’s implying, saying more could be dangerous.

His commentary re: Asuka is possibly a bit gaff. As far as I’ve ever heard, Asuka has no problem with Rossy (at least not in 2024) and has been seen with him on occasion, and taken photo’s with him, when in town. Her problem afaik has always been Nanae Takahashi.
