X Corp. claims Meta used Twitter trade secrets and ex-employees to build Threads.
these employees had and continue to have access to Twitter’s trade secrets and other highly confidential information
If you fire an employee, why would you let them have continued access to “trade secrets and other highly confidential information”?
The workers, he alleged, “owe ongoing obligations to Twitter,”
They were fired. They don’t owe twitter anything
and many “have improperly retained Twitter documents and electronic devices.”
Why didn’t twitter have a process to request hardware and documentation back? Don’t tell me boygenius musk fired everyone and didn’t think to request anything back …
Spiro’s letter did not say which former Twitter employees are allegedly working on Threads or specify what intellectual property is allegedly being used by Meta.
“Stop doing what we’re doing! We’re failing and can’t handle competition!”
I hate meta just as much but this lawsuit makes zero sense.
In the letter they state all bots must follow robots.txt. That’s understandable.
At the bottom they link a sitemap. Which doesn’t even exist?
https://twitter.com/sitemap.xml
I hate Zucc’s guts, but he isn’t stupid. Elon on the other side I am not so sure about.
Good, let them continue to waste money
Isn’t Twitter open source? Good luck with that, Elon.
It’s not open source, but Mastodon & ActivityPub are which are still used for microblogging. He has no case still though!
At this point, X is also trying to copycat Twitter, and it’s doing a worse job of it than Threads. And Threads is tanking.
