As if people with anxiety don’t have enough to worry about, a new study is adding to that list — suggesting the disorder may nearly triple the risk of developing dementia years later.

“We have known for a long time that stress increases risk for Alzheimer’s disease,” said Dr. Rudolph Tanzi, director of the McCance Center for Brain Health at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, who wasn’t involved in the study, via email. “This study agrees with earlier studies that therapy aimed at alleviating anxiety can help reduce risk for (Alzheimer’s disease). But, it’s the size of this study that is particularly compelling.”

Anxiety is a natural response to an issue… Fix it.

The issue is that under modern economic and social conditions, a lot of anxiety can’t be resolved

Once it is chronic like that, there is no exit.

There is a reason why we see these spike of mental health issue accorss the board couple with constant terror attacks by unhinged people.

But nobody will link the two together lol because thay would hurt somebody’s profit. Actually entire ruling class and their lapdog regimes would have face the wrath of the people

Don’t let your anxiety be a prison. Do what you can. Leave what you can’t.

I quit drinking caffeine and had the lowest anxiety levels I’ve ever experienced. Then I got in my first vehicle accident in 25 years of driving. So I decided to start drinking caffeine again because I’d rather be alive and anxious than dead.

If you didnt already know, every person alive is 100% fucked. It’s the nature of our mortal existence that we are fucked.

Don’t let that stop you from living, because fuckedness is eternal.

Statistics being what they are, 3 times more sounds like a lot than it is because your baseline chance (not accounting for genetica) to get Alzheimer’s is like 1.6%.

So you can triple that and still be sittin pretty at less than 5%. Alzheimer’s seems to be related in part to diet, smoking, and exercise too, so you can mitigate your chance (or pump those numbers in my case lol).

So relax my fellow anxiety sufferers! Something completely different will kill you

Long story short, alzheimer’s is predicted by inflammation levels, which are all affected by those things

My GF has pretty bad anxiety problems. I thought about sending this link to her but it’d probably just make her anxious.
