If they actually don’t have a way to assess AI usage in software, in the walled garden that is corporate software dev, then they’re just incompetent lol

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•what is the thing you think the fediverse is not prepared for?
2·1 day agoYes because it’s cricket, E.g. during a live thread. It’s just an example. Outside of tech and American interests, there is actually very little of interest here for passive or casual users.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•what is the thing you think the fediverse is not prepared for?
4·2 days agoDoesn’t that just mean it will attract a certain type of user, where FOSS and tech are huge parts of identity? I’m not mocking that type of user at all, but honestly my primary use case for Reddit was shitposting in /r/cricket threads. There’s never going to be that sort of community, because frankly anyone not into tech would find this platform completely incomprehensible.

2·3 days agoI do love this era where C-level execs have somehow become too stupid for PR training though. It’s easy to say that they can do what they want, but in this case, the crap theyve spewed is going to cause serious damage to their brand, ya love to see it.

11·6 days agoIt’s a country that thinks a fair federal election is the responsibility of individual states. I don’t care about the history, I don’t care about the importance of “states rights”, it’s untenable. I don’t even consider this an opinion, it’s logical idiocy.

Technology@lemmy.world•PHP Foundation 'under-funded' with one full-time staff member, director saysEnglish
2·6 days agoThe usage of PHP in enterprise appliances is actually pretty wild - many firewalls, load balancers etc are using PHP for management plane activities. There is a lot out there outside of userland, and those are the appliances most vulnerable in my opinion. A compromised firewall is worse than a compromised website.

Technology@lemmy.world•Banks Preparing for Aftermath of Unprecedented Catastrophe Caused by AI: "You can't stop it."English
41·6 days agoThat does sound like a bit of a risk. Similar to how high frequency trading affects stability of shares and elevates risk of mass sell-offs - if these agents had enough use from the general public, they could easily impact the stability of a bank.

My favourite part is the “we’re all in a bit of a shock about the articles written” in a PR piece that actively worsens their public perception hahaha
