If its for work then consider having two machines, using windows for the work machine and Linux for the personal one.

We are not the same
Could say the same about Windows and MacOS.

Programming@programming.dev•What do you think the future of Windows is?
4·24 days agoThat’s what the room sprays are for.
No romance
Dark Souls 3 had romance. Basically your fiancée Anri of Astora is killed and you resurrect him/her using a sword to their forehead. Very wholesome.
Why? Those worlds dime a dozen. Which is why I like the souls series world building, its different.

Programming@programming.dev•How much are SOLID principles in OOP programming (and JVM languages specifically) just a mindless following of a set of ideas that aren't always the best solution?
4·30 days agoOne example is creating an interface for every goddamn class I make because of “loose coupling” when in reality none of these classes are ever going to have an alternative implementation.
Not only loose coupling but also performance reasons. When you initialise a class as it’s interface, the size of the method references you load on the method area of the memory (which doesn’t get garbage collected BTW) is reduced.
Also the more I get into languages like Rust, the more these doubts are increasing and leading me to believe that most of it is just dogma that has gone far beyond its initial motivations and goals and is now just a mindless OOP circlejerk.
In my experience, not following SOLID principles makes your application an unmaintainable mess in roughly one year. Though SOLID needs to be coupled with better modularity to be effective.

5·1 month agoI was once watching American Gods and there is a scene where Mr. Wednesday tells Shadow Moon “Oh, it’s my day” when he learns that the day is Wednesday.
I began to think about what did he mean “my day”. Then I remembered that >!Wednesday derives from “Woden’s Day”, “Woden” is another word for “Odin”. And thus Mr. Wednesday is Odin.!< This was then revealed in one of the last episodes of the season.
You don’t. I’d ask my lead/supervisor if there is any other item to work on. Doing this consistently will get you promoted.
