I joined Lemmy back in 2020 and have been using it as @qaz@lemmy.ml until somewhere in 2023 when I switched to lemmy.world. I’m interested in systemd/Linux, FOSS, and Selfhosting.

I’d like to say that I appreciate seeing posts with a video embed instead of a YouTube link or other closed platforms.
I personally use Node-RED for several automations myself. Is it worth switching to n8n?

Beloved sea mammal dubbed ‘Michael Jordan’ for insane act confirming the wonder of nature
A dolphin captured soaring above the sea led nature buffs to dub it the “Michael Jordan” of sea mammals for its incredible ups.
The astonishing photo posted on the Pacific Whale Foundation’s Instagram page showed a Pantropical spotted dolphin flying through the air.
It was captured by the foundation’s research team on March 4 off Maui’s west shore, according to KTLA.

6·7 days agoWhat do you dislike about them? I tend to be a bit more skeptical of it’s progress than him, but I feel like it’s good to hear a different perspective. I also like that he gets guests with more knowledge about the topic to bring some more expertise while he acts as a proxy for the average viewer to make it more understandable for a general audience.

Videos@lemmy.world•Mitigating DRAM Refresh Latency via Hedged Request Strategies | LaurieWiredEnglish
21·8 days agoIt’s not bs because you don’t know it.
For anyone else wondering what it’s about. Due to the way modern memory chips function, they leak electricity and have to be recharged periodically. This prevents the CPU from accessing the memory resulting in latency spikes. This video explains that, and explores methods to mitigate it.
