I would say that both games is an achievement. Guild Wars was unique and still is, while Guild Wars 2 also was quite unique, while also being very different from the original Guild Wars.
Absolutely, I do agree in both respects, just for me personally I wanted more of the same from the second game where as it turned out to be a very different game.
I don’t think it is a bad game or anything, it just isn’t what I wanted at the time and since then I have just never been able to get into it. Which is a shame.
