im starting to learn and search about torrent and piracy in general, do I need a VPN even if my country does not care at all about piracy?

        Neither Mullvad nor iVPN are offering port forwarding so neither will be ideal for torrenting.

          Correct as stated above, for “security”. I also put the providers that DO work for torrenting since port forwarding is required to connect to a LOT of peers, a person who doesn’t know much about VPNs to begin with probably doesn’t understand that tech jargon we use, admittedly there is always a LOT to learn.

        Can someone speak more to this distinction between VPN for torrenting vs security? Does one come at the expense of the other?

          A VPN can offer some security for either. Any way, yiu depend on the provider to forward your traffic and not reveal who you are.
