I’ve recently watched all the movies. I love the backstory of Candyman. The 1st one was meh but i really enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd one, more so the 2nd one, as well as the remake.

I’m a black woman so some of the scenes that had police brutality and just all kinds of racism and bigotry, I had to skip because I just couldn’t watch it.

I do love that Candyman brings to light all the racism and bigotry that black people have had to deal with. If you’re a poc then you’ll definitely understand the movies a lot more than non poc.

Its a horror movie thats scary and also has a message. Not the lock your doors message but a real message.

If you haven’t seen it I highly recommend.

Edit: Take my opinion about the 1st one with a grain of salt. I was dumb and watched the remake before the original, so I had already known the plot when I watched the original, so my opinion about the 1st one is invalid.
