Russia appears to have launched a “renewed offensive” against Ukrainian troops in the eastern part of the country as the war inches closer to entering its second winter, National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said on Friday.

But Russian troops haven’t made much progress, Kirby said, adding that the new attacks are “not a surprise.”

“The Russian military appears to be using human wave tactics where they throw masses of poorly trained soldiers right into the battlefield without proper equipment, and apparently without proper training and preparation,” he said.

Great strategy Vlad, maybe Ukraine will just get tired of killing your meat puppets.

The issue is the meat grinder tactic can be very effective if you’re willing to use it.

Russia has more resources to burn so it may work out. But based on their previous strategic skill it’ll likely just be a huge waste of life.

Russia has more resources to burn so it may work out.

Does it though? Modern Russia isn’t the soviet union anymore. Pulling subsistence farmers out of a town and marching them to the front at little to no cost to the economy doesn’t work anymore. Handing someone a rifle and telling them to move up isn’t really acomplishing anything anymore, other than losing people and rifles. Lets not forget Russia is not that much larger than Ukraine, they can’t sustain every loss.

True but they also have a lot more hardware to throw away. So they can burn multiple tanks taking out one of Ukraine’s and still come out on top overall.

Plus they’ve been recruiting prisoners and people from other countries which doesn’t hurt them in the same way.

You see, Killbots have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I sent wave after wave of my own men at them until they reached their limit and shut down.

Yeah I remember reading about how they lost like 100 vehicles in one day or something a day or two ago.

Huge Ukrainian losses enabled Russian offensive.

Because Ukraine wasted all of its people in Russian meat grinder, under name of Spring, no it was Summer, no it was Fall counteroffensive, Russia was able to start its offensive knowing well that Ukraine can’t counter it effectively.

Ok, let’s just face it. Promised Ukrainian counteroffensive has failed after 6 months, killed tens of thousands of Ukrainians and accomplished less than Russian Avdiivka attack in last 2 days.

It’s been a lot more effective than the 3 day long Special Military Operations that Vlad promised, you Kremlin

The difference, comrad, is that Ukraine cares about preserving formation, so they don’t charge blindly ahead. Russia doesn’t give a shit, if they have to refill their “elite” VDV formation three times over with mobiks, they’ll gladly do so. Their literal purpose is soak up bullets from Ukrainian strongpoints, so someone else can fire a couple of North Korean artillery shells at it.

Obviously the latter method is great for gaining ground, in the short term. The former method is a lot more useful if you’re assuming the war will last longer than 3 days.

      Also: Sources please.

Ukraine called all men and all draftable women to show up at military draft tracking locations.

        That’s my loose translation.

Reason: allegedly to improve tracking of people.

My opinion: to replenish losses after disastrous summer counteroffensive.

        Time magazine

Ukraine Is in Worse Shape than You Think

        https://time.com/6176748/ukraine-war-economy/

I could find non-English reports that personnel in some military units have been changed completely several times in Ukraine.

Some western leaders stated loss numbers far exceeding official Ukrainian losses.

Would you believe any data I quote?

So, there is no point for me to waste my time.

The downvote numbers clearly indicate the desire to hide this information.

The downvotes are probably because you’re not smart enough to combine all your links into one post. They’re also partly because your links suck.

1: Newsweek is a US conservative magazine. They’re famous for not having used factcheckers in the past 30 years, and the US conservative movement is heavily influenced by Russia. I wouldn’t believe them if they told me the sky is blue.

2: the link from the Time is a year and a half old, and completely irrelevant to the current situation. It was 1 months into the war, and it was before the Kyiv attack was shattered, for example, or Russia pushed back to the Dnipro.

3: the NYT article basically says “after suffering casualties in one attack, AFU have changed their strategy”. After those changes, the advance in the Robotyne and Novosilka areas was made.

None of that is “Ukraine is about to lose the war” material. Nor is Ukraine winning any time soon, that much is true.

All one has to do to make a vatnik cry is ask: if the ~12 villages that Ukraine has recaptured during the counter-offensive is a “failure” then how tf do you describe what the fascist ruzzians have done in the past year? The last win for the orcs was bakhmut, which was thanks to wagner, who’ve been destroyed in exchange. Battle of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kherson… Ruzzians have done almost nothing except eat shit from the beginning.
