I tried to get into it but I’m a Vanilla and TBC WoW simp and I couldn’t adjust to the fact that GW2 is different than WoW.

It’s a great game but it just didn’t work for me.

I played WoW for sixteen years. Finally had enough of the subscription grind, the associated FOMO, and the constant resetting of all gear progression with each expansion. Took a year off of MMOs and then picked up GW2.

BTW, GW2 doesn’t have weekly downtime like WoW does.

The gear and stat reset in elder scrolls online made me quit that game. I struggled to figure my best set up and then to have it reset was just too much. I did not know WoW did that. I was considering picking it back up but definitely not.

Every time there’s an expansion in WoW, everything you did prior to it, is mostly obsolete…

I like WoW, and I like GW2, and I especially like that GW2 is different from WoW.

I really hope you’ve been enjoying WoW classic! I personally didn’t have the patience to go back through everything in vanilla and TBC for a second time, but the nostalgia hit me hard. I won’t knock modern WoW, but something about playing during the TBC/WotLK era just hit different.

Anyway, GW2 is my jam now, but I’m glad that we have both.
