What’s the worst? Something very obscure probably. However Mastodon and Lemmy are very opinionated now so they’re only really suitable for closed communities which is fine but it’s not what they advertise themselves are and it’s not something I consider what makes a good overall social network.

Facebook certainly has a lot of issues but it’s way better for the mental health of sane individuals who can deal with disagreements imo.

As for the hiding issue, can’t you just open your “Friends” or whatever it’s called tab?

Also I do agree that alternatives have way more user-focused design but the mentioned issues of them are absolutely massive to the point that I personally cannot recommend them as social networks.

That’s not what Facebook is like at all.

Have you considered perhaps that you’re simply more aligned with their (right-wing ranging to outright fascist) opinions?

Facebook as a company was literally doing stuff like censoring #democrats and started being openly hostile to LGBT people days ago. And you say they can deal with people who think differently? Lol

I am more aligned with their views indeed. But it doesn’t change how FOSS networks lie about themselves and are very leftist. I guess Facebook and them are just opposite.

Facebook as a company was literally doing stuff like censoring #democrats

Idk about that but they’re at least claiming to be removing censorship so let’s see how it goes (not too well so far).

and started being openly hostile to LGBT people days ago.

Hostile? Exaggerated in my opinion. I support letting anti-LGBT and other anti- people speak in a not toxic way. The problem is people who lose special benefits over others in cases like this always tend to exaggerate and say that they’re threatened which is pretty ridiculous. If Facebook really is just banning LGBT members though, that is too much.

And you say they can deal with people who think differently?

Not really but this is how FOSS networks (Revolt and Lemmy in particular) made me be so like I’m not sure who’s at fault here and it’s not really the topic anyways.

But it doesn’t change how FOSS networks […] are very leftist.

FOSS is essentially software socialism. It’s not surprising many of the people who love it espouse those ideals in other aspects of life.

          Idk about that

Yes you do. I can see your post history on the topic. You know they’ve been censoring opposing viewpoints.

but they’re at least claiming to be removing censorship so let’s see how it goes

Claiming to be doing that then verifiably censoring political persuasions they don’t adhere to. Clearly following the Elon Musk school of being free speech absolutists.

          (not too well so far)

Well at least you’re aware of it.

          Hostile? Exaggerated in my opinion.

Well facts don’t really line up with your opinions, I guess. They were and are being hostile to LGBT people.

I support letting anti-LGBT and other anti- people speak in a not toxic way

Ummm… How? Legitimately how is that possible? Being anti-LGBT is inherently being toxic. What does that even mean?

It’s an impossible position. You cannot be anti-LGBT without being toxic in the same way you cannot jump into a pool of lava unscathed.

And you say they can deal with people who think differently?

          Not really

But you initially said they could?

but this is how FOSS networks (Revolt and Lemmy in particular) made me be so like I’m not sure who’s at fault here and it’s not really the topic anyways.

Of course. You’re not at fault. Nothing is your fault. It’s those damn other people who made you this way.

I think there’s no point in any further discussion with such stubbornness. I would like to use my right to prohibit interaction with me any further.

You lost on every single point made, then proudly silenced your opponent and strutted victoriously, while calling them stubborn… some people have no ability to self analyze, genuinely impressive display of willful ignorance

Are you really, completely sure that you are not the one being stubborn here?

I am stubborn too but there’s no point in talking to a stubborn person with an opposite opinion. The only thing it can cause is both sides being convinced that the other side is stupid.

Can you give me an example of non-toxic anti-lgbtq behavior?

Religion. That’s like the most obvious example possible.

Perhaps you’re right. There’s no point talking to a hateful bigot for me either.

And for what it’s worth, you don’t need to tell me about your right to do that. You can either simply not reply, or you can block. You don’t need my consent.
