they shouldn’t even have a horse in this race. i mean we know why they do, but damn is it completely insane.

Anyone stupid enough to be using edge on purpose deserves what they get at this point.
I use Edge for work and Firefox for personal. The o365 integration is nice.
Y’know, it really takes the fun out of my overly broad and unnecessarily spiteful pronouncements when you force me to contemplate real stuff like that.
Ungoogled Chromium exists. I wonder if it’d possible to do a version of Chomium that has the benefits of Edge without the downsides.
I realize MS would still be tracking, but it’d be all work stuff, so I’m less concerned about it.
