Does anyone have ideas on how to promote? I tried on good old reddit, but post was removed by mods.

You have over 50 subscribers after 48 hours. What’s the problem? Poles have their own instance yet the Warsaw community !wwa@szmer.info only has some 250 subscribers after 5 years. Lemmy is just small and only a few of the 50k MAU (about 10 of which are Czech) will be interested, you have to promote the fediverse (especially in the Czech Republic) first.

Did you know there used to be Czech instances czech-lemmy.eu and kyberpunk.social that barely saw any activity?

Post some content here. There are only 6 posts here and why should anyone come here, subscribe and post when the community is basically empty? Give yourself 2-3 weeks. Post relevant and interesting content here. And if this community has some content, then start with whatever promotion the others are recommending

If I’d know you from playing in the sandbox together, I’d now call you a smartass ;) Thanks for your helpful insights, but I’m not willing to create the content, rather than provide the platform.

I suggest creating a bot account and running a script that will post a link to every Prague-related video uploaded to the Honest Guide channel you posted here earlier (asking you with a prompt to tell whether the video is Prague-related). I can write the code in Python but it will take a while to get the free time. People not interested in the videos can just block the bot, which is another reason why a separate account is recommended.

It won’t work like that. If you want to start a community, you need to seed a little activity. And by the way, that should be easy. If you’re starting a community about Prague, you seem interested in the city and there is a lot of happening, so just post some articles or threads and you’re good

Following your advice - set myself a goal of at least one post / day. Feel free to kick in if you have anything to share.
