Sir Patrick Vallance, the government’s former chief scientific adviser, made the comments in his diary on 14 December 2020, amid a huge Covid wave that led to the third UK-wide lockdown and killed 1,000 people a day at its peak.

Vallance claimed Johnson said that a lot of his party “thinks the whole thing is pathetic and Covid is just nature’s way of dealing with old people – and I am not entirely sure I disagree with them”, the Covid inquiry heard.

The UK Covid-19 Inquiry is an independent public inquiry into the United Kingdom 's response to, and the impact of, the COVID-19 pandemic, and to learn lessons for the future.

He’s 59 now, would have been 56 back then and let’s be honest, he’s very far from a marathon runner…

This is what happens when you are raised in a way that makes you believe you will never face harm and will never fail. You can even be 56 years old and not the healthiest person alive and say “let the old people get it” because you are not “one of the people”, not a “pesky human” you are special, protected by money and power, even when Covid got the rich too.

That people can be raised this way and completely feel like they are their own lifeform at this point is what is wrong with the difference between rich and not even poor, just normal people, getting bigger and bigger.

There is a step above and that’s someone like Musk or Thiel who are their own entity that they dream of leaving earth and living on Mars, because “people” don’t interest them at all, except they live in 10.000 years from now. Someone like them is literally saying “let all the people get it”, “let all the world destroy itself with climate change” because I can leave before it will harm me.

Amazing how Johnson’s government managed to combine this callous indifference to the fates of its people with one of the most cruel and restrictive “lockdown” regimes in the world, arresting people for going out to walk their dogs and so on. Boris really had a talent for ineptitude that was exceptional even among prime ministers.

That’s because the common dumbass forgets about this stuff after about 5 minutes. Then they write a 1000 word essay to sound smart and ask “bUt YoU tHiNk YoU hAvE fIgUrEd It OuT?!”

It’s one of the reasons I don’t see them as grown adults.

This isn’t just a British problem. Putting politicians in charge of education when they have an incentive to keep voters dumb is not the smartest move democracies ever made.
