This shape is quite essential to get the low power requirements due to aerodynamics.

Without this shape it would likely not be able to reach the cruising speeds it needs for driving on highways etc.

Small production run sports cars were always a thing, and with the technically much simpler electric drive those small production runs can be sold for the price of a normal car instead of sports car prices.

In addition they seem to have gotten a Chinese company with lots of automatization experience on board, so that should improve margins a bit as well.

I think they have a good chance to survive in a niche market.

I will never get why there are no VR studios just taking the HL:Alyx engine and make games with that. I think maybe Bonelabs is?

It is by far the best VR FPS game engine available, yet studios reinvent the wheel or use Unity3D 😒

Many Fediverse servers require that as an anti-spam measure, here on Lemmy as well. It works nicely.

Cool to read that they plan to have it fall back on email when the address doesn’t work via a xmpp.

I am curious to try it, but when thinking about it I realized my OIDC SSO solution uses email addresses as identifiers, which makes this a bit more complicated 😓

It’s easy enough to set up. I have that working here on slrpnk.net and also on an Akkoma instance I run.

Peertube instances also come with a built in xmpp server if you install the live chat extension, but there it is used in a more limited fashion.

They actually started publishing their newsletter as a Movim/Monocles compatible xmpp pubsub blog a few months ago.

Movim is sluggish? I don’t have that experience at all, and it would be really confusing because it mostly runs on the server. Maybe you are using an instance on the other side of the world?
