Genuine question, what would you want to hear from a vehicle?
I’m not taking the piss or anything, it’s just the new gen of eleccy cars have done what combustion engine designers have dreamt of overnight, and made for a quieter car - but what would you want as a pedestrian? A fake engine note through a speaker? A bell like a tram or a bike? A flashing strobe?
I’m fortunate enough to have decent sight and hearing, so I can generally hear the tyres cracking even if I’m out running - would love to hear from someone who either wants more noise from them, or needs other sensory input due to disabilities or other accessibility issues.
Above a certain speed the tyre on road noise becomes loud enough to indicate a vehicle. Hmm I suppose any sound will do but a fake engine noise or rising and falling electronic whirr would do fine, o people don’t walk out Infront on a heavily parked street.
I really hope Renault use this sound system on their new models.
