Over what time frame? Of course anyone who can maintain the willpower to get on a diet and stick to it can loose weight, but the evidence shows that the vast majority will put weight back on in the medium/ longer term. The attitude of depriving yourself to loose weight (as well as the body’s reaction to quick weight loss) can contribute to a damaging cycle of weight loss/ gain.
It seems to be better to focus on eating better and being more active to improve overall health, and if weight loss happens at the same time then that’s great.
