It’s essential to understand the conservative mind, to know that in their world there are good people and bad people. When good people do bad things, they have slipped up but can be redeemed, they must be forgiven. No matter what good people do, they never stop being actually good. Bad people doing bad things is expected and according to their nature. Bad people doing good things happens by accident or as part of a ruse to achieve some bigger evil goal, or because they are stupid. Whatever bad people do, that never changes that they are bad.
