What’s Canadian wine like? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it available here (in the UK), but to be fair I’ve never really looked for it either. I’m always keen on trying drinks off the beaten tracks
Also spruce beer should be available more widely, that stuff is great
There’s a really good wine shop in a town near me. I’ll see if I can find anything next time I’m there. I’m interested to try an ice wine too, so I suppose I can kill two birds with one stone if I’m lucky! Ice wine as a concept does seem appropriately Canadian
There are a few major wine regions. Here in the Western side of Canada in BC we have an area called the Okanagan that has a ton of excellent varietals (100s of wineries) . From ice wine (super sweet, appreteif) to dry reds and whites. Some very good wineries from Vancouver area and Vancouver Island as well.
We have wine from all over the world and local stuff. Why would we want theirs?

You don’t see them very often (also in the UK), but the Rieslings from Niagara on the lake are worth keeping an eye out for.
They also make ice wine out that way, which is definitely interesting, but too sweet for me to really reach for often, personally.

There’s a great segment by Rick Mercer (Canadian John Stewart, sorta) about ice wine! https://youtu.be/IUhYw7cf3KQ
I loved his show. Made fun of politicians, then visited cool places all over Canada and made you fall in love with them.
If I’m having ice wine, it’s with dessert.
Ice wine is dessert. You can pour it over pancakes like graple syrup.

Thank you! Hopefully when I find some there’s enough on offer that I can take regions into account
I like it, but I am not equipped to describe it further.
