Mozilla recently rolled out a new on-device AI feature in Firefox, but it's already drawing complaints from users reporting high CPU usage and faster battery drain.
It’s the Sony approach. Betamax was beaten by VHS (despite being better), and then Video8 was beaten by pretty much every competing format, so their strategy to defeat HD-DVD with Blu-ray was to methodically shove it up every consumer’s ass no matter how much they kicked and screamed. They spent a lot of money doing it, but they came out of it with market dominance.
It’s honestly pretty amazing how they started making them when physical media was nearly dead and then rode triumphantly up and down the market longer than they should have been able to. They had a death grip on consumers.
