Damn straight. I’m tired of every car weighing a million fucking pounds. Tax the hell out of them by weight to the point where it’s impossible to sell needlessly big-ass murcia-mobiles.
More weight also means exponentially more damage to the streets, so that would be one more good argument for higher taxes.
The height of SUV hoods is getting crazy too. I ride bikes and motorcycles a lot, and the larger SUVs have frontends that look like semis.
Its kinda infuriating, that because they are heavy is the reason of the tax exemption. For some reason pick up trucks and suvs don’t count as cars in the us, so they don’t have worry about eco standards, this auto make love making them.
