1: The cooldown period is way too long. I understand that it’s way less than the five minutes of Reddit, but 30 seconds is glacial. It needs to be 10 or 15 seconds so that people can get their art pieces done faster without requiring an entire team to do it with them.

2: There needs to be more allowance for artistic expression. The human body in itself is art and it has been this way for centuries. All of a sudden open breasts are a crime? I thought that Lemmy was leftist and progressive. And I wasn’t the only one whose phallus drawings got shamelessly censored by the supreme overlord of the event. What happened to equity in artistic expression? Also, the Fuck Cars logo was demolished because it had the middle finger in it. Like, hello, that’s the logo? Grow up?

EDIT: This is not to say that political expression which harms minorities and the LGBTQIA+ community should be allowed.

Ahh, ok… so it clearly wasn’t some sort of centralized “Lemmy” thing (I was wondering why I, as an instance admin, hadn’t heard anything about it until after the fact). With that in mind, have you considered posting your criticism over there?

OK, but you understand that nobody here has anything to do with that, right? This was just some event that an instance admin put on. Maybe you should run the next “Lemmy Place” and use rules that you feel are appropriate?

Maybe I’m misinformed, and I’ll take that criticism if I am, but I went here because I thought that this was the main developer instance for Lemmy, so it wouldn’t hurt to post it here.

lemmy.ml is indeed the instance run by the developers of lemmy. But this “lemmy place” that you’re complaining about doesn’t seem to have anything to do with lemmy.ml or the lemmy devs… It was just an activity that one instance admin put on, as far as I can tell.
