No way I’m reading Ivan Toney for 80 mil including add ons and Assanal are leading the race. Don’t feel like he offers much of an upgrade.

We lack an efficient, score from anywhere, with anything type of player and maybe he offers us that? If Eddie was a little bit better with his finishing I’d say he would be perfect but he just isn’t quite there yet.

Has to be fake news. Might as well engage Oismhen’s 120M release clause at that rate.

Not Douglas Luiz, he’ll cost at least 80 mil.

I was hoping for Onana, but I can’t see either him or Everton being open to it so I’ll pass on that idea for now.

Unless we sell players, I can’t see us getting an upgrade and we may have to live with Elneny, Partey, and Jorginho until the summer.

Me as well. That being said, I feel like they are all solid back ups for this moment in time IF we dont plan on challenging for both the CL and the league.

Rice, Ode and Havertz/Trossard should be starting and I only really want ppl who are upgrades or will challenge them for their roles

I mean, if Partey can stay fit he’s good enough, and Jorginho deserves more credit. Injuries are the worry.

Deep down I love the Elnenys, Holdings, and the Nketiahs of the sport, but I also understand that you need to be ruthless to be successful and sometimes being ruthless is letting go of what holds you back.

Jorginho has a lot to offer as he seems very knowledgeable about the tactical side of the game and that will definitely help the younger players. If he stays I won’t be mad.

Partey was great when he was fit, plus him and Xhaka really played well together. He was so slick and calm on the ball. Realistically though I can see his time being up at the club, and I’m fine with that.

on one hand I agree about the Elneny thing, but I think that this season has shown once again why we need someone like him. How many players do you reckon would be willing to be fourth choice 6? Especially when we only play 1 half the time? Yet between Partey’s injury record, Rice’s versatility, and Arteta’s occasional use of double 6s, I think he’s a very useful player to have.

Partey I do want to move on from, mostly for the legal cloud over him. Innocent until proven guilty and all that, but at the same time between his unreliability, his accusations, and his age, it’s probably time we got money for him.

Pragmatic ambition is required sometimes. We have seen what happens when you are wasteful (Everton, Man U) and I’d prefer we be diligent and patient with our approach. We don’t have the ability to spend like some other teams, so we need to make sure are better both off and on the pitch.
