Soon we reach 2024 and i wish you the best for the new year. I think there are some interresting game annoynced for 2024. So what jrpg’s, regardless of old or new, do you plan to play?
Maybe Persona 3 Reload, probably on sale.
I finish Star Ocean the second Story are probably today or tomorrow, so in januar i finsih for sure Final Fantasy 16 and want to finish my second Nier Replicant playthrough. But i mostly play newer games, so the games i’m interrested in are following:
- Persona 3 Reload: I thought about playing another version, but i will go with this version and probably play another version later
- Unicorn Overlord
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
- Persona 5 Tactica: was a bithday present, so i’m sure i will play this soon
Besides that i probably play some older game to get up to date, still missing some trails games and we get daybreak as well.
I want to play Chrono Trigger the first time to get somthing older as well. And if we get Methaphor, that’s on my list for sure as well.
Is that the original or remake Star Ocean 2? The new one seemed interesting but I haven’t gotten around to playing it.
I’m playing Secret of Mana 2 (Seiken Densetsu 3) mostly for nostalgia and because I don’t have a good computer right now. Combat and UI is clunkier than I remembered it.
I play Star Ocean the Second Story R, didn’t name it correctly, so it’s the remake. I think it’s interresting and a good retro game with newer optic. I can’t really play the old Mana games anymore because of the aged combat. But liked them in the past.
Shin Megami 3, Persona 3, Danganronpa 3, Fire Emblem 3H
lots of 3s
It’s a nice list.
Ive just started playing chrono cross. Not far in and its ps2 / 3 age is showing but hopefully its story carries it.
Chrono Cross was ps1 lol
Now you say it. That makes sense.
Gotta remember PS2 had FFX which was a massive improvement in the graphics department, still remember the first time I saw it and I was like “OMG THIS IS LIKE PLAYING CGI, DOESNT GET BETTER THAN THIS”
i legit though for a while all games just look worse than FFX. That’s for sure not true, but i even thought that about a lot ps3 games. That was just my brain praise FFX to much.
It was pretty sweet looking, though. Especially for someone like me that needs better framerates. FF7 through 9 topping at 15fps in battle was brutal for me.
I played the remakes of the first and second star ocean game this year. At least the second (original) got some praise. I think, and that just for the remakes, you see the age of the games. Still was interresting enough and i’m not the biggest retro gamer.
Visions of mana. Eyuden Chronicles
I’m still not sure if i play Visions of Mana. Depend on the feedback from you XD
Well secret of mana was my entry drug back when it released. I will give it a least a try.
my first was sword of mana, but haven’t played all of them.
I’m currently playing final fantasy 9. I would recommend it’s the last final fantasy game that in my opinion is a final fantasy game.
I got gifted Persona 4 and 5, so I’m really looking forward to those. I want to do a replay of Nier Automata too, and I’ve got Nier Replicant and the Chrono Cross remake waiting in the wings. Also FF7 Rebirth.
More of the old Atelier games, hopefully. For new stuff, I’m most interested in Trails through Daybreak, Eiyuden Chronicle, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Unicorn Overlord. There are bound to be a couple of surprises along the way this year that I’ll try.
My 2024 plans are:
- Star Ocean: First Departure R
- Final Fantasy III and IV Pixel Remasters
- Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition
- Chrono Trigger
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Intergrade DLC, and Crisis Core
- Final Fantasy XVI
- Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail
We’ll see how many of those I actually complete…
Nice list, have fun with those games. I played Star Ocean the first Departure R last year and had fun with it.
