There is a new instance that recently federated with some (many big) lemmy instances called Hexbear. They were on a forked version of lemmy with some updates, such as custom emojis. I’ve subscribed to some of their communities, and noticed the custom emojis don’t work and kinda break the posts/comments. I understand this is not very high-priority, but Hexbear is pretty large. So it might be good to fix this idk 🤷‍♂️

    Probably won’t support this any time soon unless other instances started using it a lot too. Are they just being displayed as image buttons?

      They are displaying as images, but break the formatting of text. The image “banner”, with the preview and link, overlap the text.

        Yea gotchya, that’s just an issue with images in general I’m dealing with. I have improved it some for the next build but it’s not perfect yet… i think this issue with the emojis would be significantly improved though. But since they’re just images, we can’t really handle them much differently or support them a certain way
