So do living homeless people make a living non-wage (not getting paid) since they aren’t dead yet? But I subscribe to the typical definition of: “A living wage is what one full-time worker must earn on an hourly basis to help cover the cost of their family’s minimum basic needs where they live while still being self-sufficient.”
How many of those fast food workers live with their parents because they can’t afford rent? Or have a second job to support thenselves? Or skipping meals or utilizing credit cards to afford food? If they are doing so to get by, then they aren’t being paid a living wage. And I didn’t dive too deep into it, but a living wage for LA, CA (where the restaurant is) is $21.22 for a single adult with no kids.
