    EU should be saying “go fuck yourself”. Perhaps that does translate into gentler political language as “we aren’t keen at this time”. I prefer the former.

      I think this is as close to a fuck you as you’ll ever going to get: “The United States ‌of ⁠America and Israel did not consult us prior to this war either. As for Iran, there ⁠has never been a joint decision on the ‘whether’ of the matter. That ⁠is why the question of how Germany might become ⁠militarily involved here does not arise,”

        You are absolutely correct. There’s a good difference between what I’d like to have said versus what should be said.
