Arteta said it was a club decision. Tbf, Arteta seems to actually want to win the Carabao Cup, so there’s definitely a difference in mentality there which contributes to it (and also we’ve been shit outta luck on draws the past two years which doesn’t help either)
I think the massive upswing in quality across the Premier League makes any trophy look a bit more desirable nowadays too honestly, makes for better viewing as a neutral at least
