It seems like he set up a trap for us. By declaring that everybody is uniform in that way, saying that you personally do not believe that could be seen as confirming his claim.

That may well be true, but let’s not forget an important caveat-- no longer living in tribal / clan situations, but in capitalist situations, people tend to be rewarded upon individualism and the lack of a need to bond and understand others.
Point is, this thought isn’t necessarily true of us as humans, but as humans living in capitalist-type situations.
