No criticism meant, but how in the world does a tank round fire without being in the breech and breech secured?
I would assume the system is designed to ensure this, and during design phase this was well considered.
Maybe the shell was dropped and landed on the primer.
I would think design would ensure that can’t happen though.
Curious to eventually find out.
After some light research, it seems that tank rounds use electrical primers. So hitting the primer wouldn’t fire it. I’m more confused now.
