I grew up playing a MUD game called MUD2 (mudii). It was one of the first multi user text adventures and I played it on a 56k modem on Wireplay back in the day.
I thought it would be a fun post on a wizard related community. Sorry, no picture 😅.
Edit, the whole point of the game is to become a wizard (level in the game).
Ha, i miss txt games. i doubt mudii was the first… we were playing single line muds on 300 baud modems over a decade before 56k
my favorite was eventually majormud, for which I ran a server through 2016 using some very bastardized tcp drivers.
Mud games still exist! I’m playing Starmourn pretty regularly still!
I thought Starmourn got EOL’d? I played a bit off and on but I was under the impression that Iron Realms shuttered it.
Brb, I have some research to do…
The admin are all volunteer now and stuff so sort of? It’s still up though and you can still play.

i fuckin loved infinity complex to the point im writing a clone…
theres a group of morons holding the source to all those games, refusing to release the code thinking its worth something. fucking assholes at the ‘major bbs restoration group’
I played this Kongregate game way back about being a wizard. It was a zelda-style game where you shot where the house was and moved with WASD, got power ups. I think there were four or them or something? Really fun memories. Prolly crap as far as a game goes nowadays.
These days, Hogwarts Legacy goes on sale for ten bucks all the time, at least on Switch and Xbox. Probably PlayStation as well. It was free on PC via Epic for a while, too. On one hand, the author of the Harry Potter books is a really bad person. On the other, the game included a trans character to spite her. And the game is a lot of fun. You get to explore a magical castle with tons of secrets, and you get to fly a broom. I basically made a better Hermione (House Ravenclaw, ginger, and not afraid of the Dark Arts).
