When goalkeeper Isaac Ranson signed with Minnesota Aurora FC, he was hoping for a place to become a better goalkeeper, and a place to be accepted as himself.
Ranson, who was assigned female at birth, came out as a transgender man during his time as a standout keeper in college for the women’s soccer team at Cal State Fullerton. He will compete for the Aurora — the pre-professional community-owned women’s soccer team based out of Eagan — this summer.
The second best team in USLW stays winning:
“I definitely feel safe to be myself in women’s sports,” Ranson said. “Although I don’t identify as a woman, I still feel included. … I’m proud to be part of women’s soccer because of how supportive and how much of a community it is.”
Fuck yeah! We need more of these wins!
I love that I’m a Minnesotan and Minnesota is the best state (with the best winters).
I hope we play you come playoff time
