Wait until you guys hear what Google has planned for other YT apps like those YT apps that you can cast to like SmartTube or VacuumTube. YouTube is doing A/B testing on encrypting the fucking video streams so that third party apps can’t watch any videos. The greed is evolving.

Shorts play routinely without fail, but ads are not suppressed. Long form videos initially load black but refreshing right after page load makes the video play. No ads are shown in long form videos.

I use an app called video lite which strips out YouTube ads but injects its own but I can block them through my pihole/Tailscale
On my devices, with vpn and Adblockers, all I get is “sign in to view” so I haven’t seen anything on YouTube in months.
