If that’s true, though, it still just means you don’t have to save extra for a new lease if the last month at your old place is already paid for.
Yeah, it’s bullshit. A real American would have said “First month’s rent. Last month’s rent. Security deposit.”
Everywhere I’ve lived, “last months rent” = security deposit. Never heard of anyone paying both.
If that’s true, though, it still just means you don’t have to save extra for a new lease if the last month at your old place is already paid for.
