Having read Signs of Danger by Wyck and come across the “use religion as a tool” method, my conclusion was and still is, that it’s not worth the cost. You don’t need to use fairy tales or tales of the boogeymen because the target audience aren’t fucking children.
Authoritative religiosity has killed, kills, and will continue to kill far more than a future unlucky tribe, scientist, or archaeologist digging up some nuclear waste because present society couldn’t bury it deep enough or give a bigger fk to fund a generationally self-perpetuating warning system (because that’d actually give independent power to science and rationality instead of politicians).
