      To be fair homework is an ineffective teaching tool anyway. You either understood it in school (in which case the homework is just tedious repetition) or you didn’t (and can’t complete the homework).

        You’re supposed to be training the skills to figure things out on your own by reading and trying. That seems to be something they’re not properly teaching in school if this is the attitude.

          That only works if there’s someone to talk to and help if you get stuck. Which not every child has at home, and even if you have people willing to help, they might not be able to.

          I feel like many classes in school were better at training than teaching. Luckily for me, I had a few exceptional teachers who made a difference - it could hav ebeen far worse.
