    Retention of records really needs to become part of a patient’s expressed consent. Clinically, it’s beneficial for us to have your medical history available for immediate reference if we’re ever caring for you… but if that comes with any risk to our patients later being confronted by Nazis, we need to go back to paper charting. Following completion of care, surrender all records directly to the patient for them to file or destroy at their own discretion, and keep nothing on site.
