Best Christian media ever made. The humor and music in that show was brilliant!

There’s also a Veggietales episode where they do a spin on the story where King David essentially rapes a lady named Bathsheba then indirectly murders her husband to keep it quiet.

The Veggietales version involved Larry the Cucumber stealing a rubber ducky from BATHsheba.

I think they said they took it as a challenge to make it work, and on its own it’s pretty good, but yeah the message would obviously get lost on kids who have no idea what sex is.

That, and it always bugged me that King George/David was told he shouldn’t steal the ducky because he had “many duckies”. Bearing in mind the original was a woman he lusted after.

Oh and fun fact, that was where the “what you did has made God very unhappy” meme comes from

It’s just like the bible itself! Apart from all the genocide and slavery and rape and stuff, of course…

Personally, the super awkward porn parts (such as the one with former lovers who were hung like donkeys) are highlights in that book the mega-hypocrites keep forcing on children 😂

What about Sodom when people want to force onto the angels and then that guy says: oh no! Not the angels! Do my daughters!

And then everyone says: yuck, we don’t want your daughters whats wrong with you.

So the angels blind everyone and then kill the city.

          Hence the lesson.

Long before Veggie Tales, the Lutherans gave us Davey & Goliath. A claymation TV show about a boy and his talking dog who face moral conundrums.

There was a scene from that show that I’ve carried around for many years as I was a target demographic for the show. Goliath somehow was stuck and alone on a building structure, quite possibly a girder. I believe he started howling from being scared and alone and it reduced me to sobbing in front of the TV. Quite possibly my generations “Brave Little Toaster.”
