Have been burned 3 times by going out to EDM nights but each time I was easily the oldest (62) and people didn’t really dance. It seems to be more about hyping each other up rather than being absorbed by the music. Is that just how it is now everywhere in Sydney? Is it a generational thing?

Sorry to hear that. Was that at the very last EC? You could have made a claim on the deceased estate but perhaps more trouble that it was worth.
When Krusty was part of the crew I got paid on-site after my gig.
Other times it took ages.
I went to some great smaller parties that Krusty ran. I worked hospo at the time. It was nice to load up a car with bar staff and hit up a doof at 3am.
