Last I checked, driving in the manner you describe is illegal, which violates the cited rule.
It might not be unsafe by your definition, but there are still laws in place that govern how you drive.
You don’t know that
Every state in the US requires drivers to signal before making a lane change. There are some differences with distance or timing but it is illegal to change lanes without using them. Rule 2 applies.
This reeks of desperation to find any excuse to “vindicate” your inconsiderate & anti-social behavior. I’m surprised she’s putting up with you, because I can only imagine in what other ways this sort of self-centeredness manifests itself.

There are no studies to support your position because it is illegal in any civilised country with traffic laws. What you are describing is what normal people call reckless driving and innocent people are murdered by the likes of you because of it. Your partner sounds smart not wanting you to drive them.

PTB. The mod is hitler who hates freedom, every driver should be free to do whatever they want on the road until it causes actual harm to others.
Erratic driving also releases adrenaline for you and for others on the road which elevates your heart rate, and high heart rate = basically cardio exercise which is healthy. Most lemmy users are American who genetically hate working out and exercise, which explains the reception and downvote ratio of your post
