I think it’s okay if the series doesn’t follow exactly the comics, and i think the character development was nice. However, the alchemy between Hal and John is amazing, and i will miss it if they don’t bring it back, even as the Halogram (i love this name)
I think, with the success of the show and Sinestro mentioning he can bring him back. I’m sure they’ll bring him back.
I think John will will Halogram back, and Sinestro will create a clone/resurrect of Hal. Then we can have a season of Hal and John adventuring together, and eventually have a little Hal versus Hal moment.
What did john put back into the storage box?
I thought it was the camping backpack and the portable hole that goes to the planet stewing in fear juice … that has Sinestro on it … who knows how to make a lantern already and just needs to make a ring too … maybe from all that yellowish dirt on the other side of the lake of fear juice.
Which maybe sets up the next season? John needs to find some information that he knows only Sinestro knows. John needs to get back into the box. Only Hal can open the box. John wills the Halogram back into existence???

Well James Gunn has said he’s really attracted to doing a Justice League Movie about Salvation Run (Peacemaker ended with Chris on the Salvation Run planet) and Sinestro would be a better foil for Lex then the Joker anyway, and Ulrich Thomsen got a lot good buzz as Sinestro. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the focus of a season 2.
Makes sense it could be the bagpack and tge portal but how is he planning to open the box again?
Depends on how much money they get. If they can afford Kyle for the whole season, Halogram and maybe teasing a reboot of of real Hal or even Parallax. A little money then a cameo of the Halogram for a little bickering and teaching as he opens the box. No money, then John reset the lock when it was open.
Kerry killed Hal and Hal is really dead… Or is he? Sinestro said he could bring him back if he had a ring, so it has to happen someday… Right?
Also I feel like I’m missing something, why “if they can find it in their hearts” for the Guardians?
I know it’s not official but I hope we get season 2 sooner rather than later. If John is on Earth and we’re not going cosmic maybe we can have a quick turn around.

They just telegraphed the next season.
John is referring to the fact that he killed last manhunter(zoe) and gave crystalized heart to guardians. Sometging they wanted to be done for a long time. He’s asking a return favour by letting him keep the ring and lantern.
Oh! I knew I was missing something obvious. John did the Guardians a favor and cleaned up their mess, so they owe him one (of sorts).
