Meh. It’s a meme community. For most sites, alt-text is a prerequisite for accessibility compliance. For shitposts you could think of it is an act of generosity toward people with vision or cognitive impairment. Some people “abuse it” to tell The Real Joke. Anyway, folks who read it may not be a huge portion of those who enjoy your content, but yes, some of us notice and appreciate it.

@Andonome I think this framing (which is relatively common) is the wrong way to think of it.
Does it make sense to exclude people that rely on alt text?
