The github states that Lemmy is named Lemmy because of the “Lead singer from Motörhead”. This is problematic for social justice warriors and liberals as MOTÖRHEAD’s lead singer, Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, is an avid collector and fan of literal Nazi Germany paraphernalia. According to NPC logic, you cannot separate the artist from the art so in supporting the lead singer of MOTÖRHEAD, you are essentially supporting Nazis. This will be a giant obstacle for Lemmy going mainstream.

Although, this may not be a problem as liberals support the neo-Nazi group Azov Battalion of National Guard of Ukraine. The founder of the Azov group, Andriy Biletsky, has said that Ukrainian nation’s mission was to “lead the white races of the world in a final crusade … against Semite-led Untermenschen [subhumans]”.

The reason why Lemmy and other platforms like it (Mastodon) are cringe; defederation. Defederating servers is very cowardly, closes debates and keeps people in echo chambers that might lead them to more extreme groups and ideas. If your ideas are correct why would you be afraid of them getting challenged? Unless, you are afraid that you might be wrong.
