Do you mean to say Lemmy may be able to differentiate between bot and human accounts regardless of that checkbox being checked or not?
I was thinking the sidebar could include a note about what bots are active in each community so folks know what they’re missing out on. I can’t see a way around honouring the option a user selects (unless Lemmy devs add more fine grained controls for users to view/hide bot accounts per each community If that’s feasibly possible).
For example @lodion could allow mods from each community to create bot accounts that don’t register as bots so that everyone can see the posts/comments but that wouldn’t be honouring the users selection.
I had planned to ask !sydney what they think about bot posted daily threads. I think it would be good to be on the same page if they think it’s a good idea.
