I pre-order the 13". In the process, and wait, I researched about the CPU, and performances and how difficult is to get and idea of the performance until the system is ship.

But one thing that got stuck in my head is that the 7840u have two TPD 15w or 30w.

I saw that some manufacturers limits the power on the firmware/board.

I can only images some scenerios to which I can’t find an answer.

A) It is fixed by the manufacturer in base of their criteria and can’t be changed?

B) it is firmware base and can be charged with BIOS options or new firmware.

C) It is a software configuration, so the OS/user can switch between then dynamically.

Another question related is if this is a binary option like 15w or 30w, or is a range that can configured.
