The rub started to burn on the skillet so i added a bit of water near the end before it was actually burnt, then sloshed the corn around so it acted like a glaze, kept roasting for a bit and then finished it in the broiler for the char
I love roasted corn so much. One of my fav foods. Growing up my mom would prepare corn only by leaving it on the cob and boiling it. Sometimes salt and margarine was provided. Weird way to eat it after I found out you can just roast them!
I usually “boil” corn before putting a quick char on it, I only bother to roast if I’m roasting a bunch of stuff with it
By boil I mean chucking it on the microwave with the husk on - then chopping one end and sliding out the corn
why do so many of our parents cook so badly, like it’s not like I had good cooks as parents to teach me so they can’t say ‘well they weren’t taught’

I like to put soy sauce, mirin, and togarashi on my grilled corn
it looked tasty before but now it looks edibly tasty
I like to soak ears in a light brine for an hour and then roast em on a slow grill. yim yum
