Punishment for cleaning the stove top… out of nowhere all the ignitors have started clicking. Turned it off at the source. Am supposed to wait 24-48 hours before trying again. I hope something hasn’t completely shorted because this is the worst possible timing to not have a stove available, I just finished up the last of my food in the fridge… guess it’s air fryer chips and fish and blanched greens for dinner tomorrow.

Gas stoves are the worst…my clickers are stuffed and a thermocouple needs replacing. Thermocouple part costs $3.20 but the work costs $250ish and will likely need to be done in the others in quick succession. I bought a one pot induction panel to get us by and it’s soooo much better… Want induction now.

I won’t lie, I do have a penchant for cooking on gas stoves, seeing the flame (I know it’s terrible for health and environmental reasons) Induction just feels… off.

But I would be panicking if this turns out to be an expensive fix like yours. Not sure the landlord is gonna wanna cough up. I hope it’s just a matter of everything needing to dry out, worst case start using matches.

Mine did this a few days ago after a service!

      Apparently it’s a safety measure.

I cleaned the ignighters with a pin, metho and isopropyl, waited for it to dry (then went again for good measure). It sometimes continually sparks but on my top simply re-ignighting solved it (thankfully).

Hope it gets resolved soon because that’s really annoying.

Looks like I should get around to cleaning those suckers. They probably haven’t ever been cleaned…

Where did you get isopropyl alcohol, isn’t it usually rather pricey in Australia? Reckon just metho would work?
